Why Choose a Green Spa/Salon?

Green Spas are naturally healthy
By eliminating toxins in their skin & hair care products and in their environment, green spas provide a healthier experience.

Green Spas are more relaxing
By putting aside the stressors of modern life – including noise, pollution, toxins and waste – green spas are able to offer a more balanced and relaxing experience. In addition to using non-toxic products, we provide our guests with a tranquil setting, so everyone who has an appointment here can enjoy a stress-free, atmosphere.

Is there a difference between a Green Spa and an Organic Spa?
Yes, an organic spa should only use and carry organic products. Be careful though, as some products referred to as or that actually have the word organic in their name, may not be a true organic product.

A green spa is not limited to only organic products and as a result, can offer clients more treatment choices. A green spa should also be a green business with green business practices.

What makes us a Green Spa?

Our philosophy is that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice to be eco-conscious and beautiful. We continually ensure that our clients have a selection of products and services to choose from that are pure, organic, eco-friendly and non-toxic. We use and recommend many facial, body and hair care products free of parabens and sulfates.

Clients may choose from our premium German color line or our ammonia free hair color formulated with organic ingredients. We use a natural botanical skincare line with high concentrations of carefully selected botanical and plant extracts, which does not include parabens, preservatives, synthetic dyes, or sulfates. We also make some of our own custom body scrubs and blends. Our nail polishes are vegan and free of DBP, formaldehyde and toluene, known carcinogens and toxins that may be absorbed into the body and that are hazardous to our community landfills. We use and retail professional mineral make up. Rather than being oil or petroleum-based, true mineral makeup is made of earthen minerals, milled to a very fine powder. Since our mineral cosmetics are made with pigments from the earth, they’re much healthier than cosmetics containing petroleum dyes.

Other areas in which Elevated Beauty has made “green” decisions:

Elevated Beauty is also dedicated to doing our part to contribute to the health and conservation of our community and the environment. We feature products that give back to environmental causes and look to get involved in local and regional fundraisers and events.

None of the products used or sold at Elevated Beauty are ever tested on animals.

Elevated Beauty makes every effort to recycle all paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and aluminum products consumed in the spa. Many spas just throw away used foils. Hair foils are recyclable, even though they have been used.

Elevated Beauty tries to always purchase spa supplies that are recyclable as well as made of recycled materials. From the paper and ink for our printer, to our paper products, and more!

Our build-out and much of our equipment is re purposed, which decreases the amount of waste and also the amount of energy and resources which would have been used to make brand new materials.

  • Most of the furnishings are vintage from local consignment shops.
  • Professional spa equipment was purchased primarily second hand.
  • Zero to Low VOC paint was used to paint every surface within Elevated Beauty.
  • We serve our guests complementary beverages in real glasses or ceramic mugs, never paper or styrofoam cups.
  • We serve our guests fair trade coffee and tea. Fair trade products come from companies and organizations that pay the farmers a fair wage for their work.
  • Elevated Beauty uses earth-friendly cleaning products and looks into ways to conserve daily energy use.

We make conscious daily choices that promote the idea that less is more when it comes to spa and spa services as well as to our planet. We are actively involved in local and national recycling programs and are committed to community service, environmental awareness, and the principles of social responsibility.
